An after work outfit post. Smeared makeup, messed up hair.
But flattering colors. Yay DYT.

Today I'm worrying about shoes. You can barely see in the photo, but I have on mustard colored leggings. I then topped with knee high brown boots, breaking up the line... as a short person, I need to lengthen the line as much as possible.

So I thought about my wonderful black booties. They've sat still since I switched to T3, unworn. They might have looked great with this, if in a T3 color. Which color should I buy? I don't want to have another pair of cognac boots....

I also put on foundation and blush today. I like how I look.

This feels REALLY good today. I clearly can't wear my hair straight like it wants to be. I guess I need to figure out what a flat iron does, get one, and figure out how to use it.

My work side of my wardrobe is seriously thinning out. There's a few pieces that look so good, I can't bear to part with them just yet (like this top, this dressthis outfit, this polka dotted top, and this dress), but I'm finding what works. I have a fairly long shopping list, but I'm on a no shopping freeze for the rest of the month. I want to buy dye for this blazer, I want to buy more blues and brighter greens and pumpkins... I also really want to find some dresses that will fit a Type 3 style and start considering how to be type 3 in the summer time.

I went through a few outfit changes today...

I cleaned on Saturday, so I wore my cleaning clothes of a black hoodie and crummy jeans.

I was a huge cranky pants.

So when hubby said out to dinner, I took some time to get a little done up and the cranky disappeared.

I liked how I looked when I got dressed today, but in the photo, this top is extremely unflattering. Here's hoping it looks better in real life than it does in the picture.

I've made a no shopping pledge for the rest of the month, and hope to carry it on through the end of Lent. Since discovering DYT, I've been doing a TON of shopping, and have done a TON of returns.

I purchased this from someone on a BST page on Facebook. I have no idea where the blouse is from, but the sweater is from Kohls.

I got a compliment already that I look beautiful and adorable.

I wasn't sure which look to go with this morning, and chose the scarf, but decided the pants don't fit right, and went with olive green ones instead. I'm also wearing my refashioned boots, which look awesome.

I'm also calling turquoise/teal/peacock blue MY color. Now to get some more in my closet, despite that no shopping pledge.

I am so thrilled that I've committed to Type 3. Seriously... who knew???

Oh yeah, I did, having landed on Type 3 when I found DYT a few years ago, and then again this time... but being convinced by that "maybe you're not Type 3 but rather a 1/4 or a 4/1."

My order from the Dressing Your Truth store arrived this weekend, and I love everything, including the leopard print wrapping paper! I initially tried the DYT store to confirm myself as a Type 4, and it didn't go well, but this go certainly confirms that I'm T3, and that I need more peacock blue in my life.

After a fairly lazy weekend of wearing sweatshirts (all of mine are black or dark blue), it felt incredible to dress up again.

Here's what I'm wearing:
Type 3 Ring Around Belt
Type 3 Lipstick - Vintage Rose
Type 3 Artifact Earrings
Type 3 Peacock Hot-T (Glad I sized up a little on this one!)
Type 3 Experience Necklace

I'm also sporting some Kohls, in my cami, pants, and eye makeup.

Happy Tuesday!

Dyt store, take 2

Today I received my second order... type 3! So happy with this bur out tee, but I'm glad I ordered it larger than normal, but I think I'll try to shrink a little bit.
I also got a few pairs of earrings, this necklace, and the lipstick I'm wearing here!
The right path is pretty clearly lit!

I think that, at least until I get some peacock blue, that raspberry may be my signature color!!

I went to Kohls yesterday to do some returns, and browsed the extensive clearance racks. It was so easy, knowing what I should be looking for. I found this top. It's a little big, so I might try to shrink it in the drier, but it's spot on in color and design.

I started in a top that should probably be donated, this top. I've been debating what to do with it for a few months, but it clearly does not work for me any longer. I also noted a pull in the fabric, so it is even more clear.

Shoe Refashion

I love these boots, but have a hard time wearing them. I can never find just the right pants or how to wear them correctly.

So I refashioned them.

I used acetone to strip the suede, and Angelus Leather Paint in Cognac (plus an inexpensive fan brush from the regular store)....

Really happy with how this turned out, but I want to find some great earrings. Ultimately, I'm not sure if this necklace is big and chunky enough, though the colors are certainly right.

I love this top, but didn't know what to wear with it. The mustard cardigan worked much better!

I want to find some great tweed pants in the correct colors, though! These are a black and white pattern...

My attempt at Dressing Your Truth, Type 4

I purchased a few items from the Dressing Your Truth store, in the hopes of confirming my Type 4. It actually confirmed that Type 4 probably wasn't going to work for me.

I actually had a great coupon, which made taking the plunge easier, but since I had to spend $75 to get free shipping, I had to make a large order.

Type 4 Cobalt Crew Scarf

Type 4 Lemon Custard Scarf

Type 4 Forever Plaid Top

The very short Type 4 Quiet And Deep Sweater and the very tight Type 4 Pure White Capri Pants

Type 4 Forever True Necklace and Type 4 Rhapsody Dress
Aside from the sizing issues I had with these items, it's pretty clear that it doesn't work for me for one reason or another. These photos actually appear in reverse try on order; I began with the dress and a smile and ended with a feeling that I was not Type 4 and the realization that I now had to send all this back.

I've learned that it's true to my Type 3 nature to not like to visit fitting rooms. I grab an armful of stuff and try it on at home then return what doesn't work for one reason or another.
I also love online shopping, especially since discovering Ebates (from which I've earned nearly $800.. if you're not using it, why the heck not???).

As a result of all this, I am ticked off by vanity sizing. These pants are perfect, except the waist is too large. They look minty in the picture, but they're olive.

I love this blouse, also from Kohls. It's really soft and great, but I'm not sure if this green works close to my face.

I'm seriously jonesing for a peacock blue cardigan, and some more leopard print. I wasn't super thrilled with the animal print in the blouse I wore the other day, perhaps due to the large amount of black in the animal print. I'm considering a purchase from the DYT store, but am hesitant because my last purchase cost nearly $20 to return! (It looks like I never posted about those outfits... must do!)

Running late on time, frustrated by the poor lighting at home, so I took a photo at school.

Really poor lighting and weird angles led to the need for multiple photos. Other than the necklace, I've had all of this for pretty much forever.

This was the outfit I began the day in, but after seeing how horrible these pants looked in the photos, I changed into the pants below.

I typically feel sloppy if I don't tuck in my blouse, but this looked pretty bad too.

So, here's a messy mirror, different pants (though these appear to be too short in my clogs), and  untucked blouse.

It's February, the month of love. All the burgundy I've bought lately will fit right on in.

Wearing with my tall brown boots. Love these boots!
