Well, my WHOLE outfit isn't from Kohls... just most of it. The earrings are from DYT and the tee is from Old Navy. Otherwise.....

This was an amazing weekend. Between baseball practice, a hike in a state park, a street fair, and a playground, I have cleaned my house not at all and prepped no food for the week. It was a weekend well spent!!

This plaid top is such a great item, and I'm so glad I found it secondhand. It's tough to see, but I'm wearing a plum tank underneath, and wore it with my burgundy flats. I love this top, and want to have all the colors!!

I was having a kitchen crisis and so have water on my blouse. Looking at these photos, I wish I'd added a belt or a larger chunkier necklace. Driving in, I wished I'd worn a purple tank for Prince rather than the green.

But today is Earth Day, and it was Wear Green for Earth Day at work. So I went with it.

Needing to mix things up a bit. I have had this mustard sweater for forever, and it's definitely good to go with the T3, but I have been shying away from it lately. I didn't expect to like it with the teal, but (at least according to the pictures), I think it works.

I'm in a spending freeze for myself, but I really want to go shopping!!!!

Go easy, Monday.

On the weekend, I don't dress up. Not unless we're going "out" in some way. Saturday was no exception, and this was a particularly nutso one. Morning started with soccer (and boy is it cold at 9am in April), then the grocery store, then a birthday party, then we decided to go to the amusement park. Comfort is too important for me to sacrifice for looking good. It just isn't.

On the weekend, I do a lot of cleaning/cooking plus my house is perpetually chilly, so I wear a LOT of long sleeve tees and a LOT of sweatshirts. Maybe as I do DYT longer, I'll add some appropriate fleece jackets or something, but for now, it is what it is.

Sunday starts with my second job, which is teaching yoga. As you may know, it's tough enough to find workout wear that isn't black, let alone trying to find it in the colors you want. So here's what I came up with this weekend; it may not be DYT to the letter, but no black is a huge step up!

Sometimes, feedback is great. Any kind of "You look awesome!" rocks. But I just got feedback that this is considered "color blocking," which is something a T4 would do. It's pretty much how I always dress, with coordinating colors in my shell/tee and cardigan. I like contrast, and choosing colors that coordinate rather than match. So now I'm confused again.

I was not feeling "it" getting ready this morning. Back to mascara only as far as makeup, and I really feel I need a belt here.

But my hair looked awesome. I am really loving the "bumpit" look.

I actually received several compliments from colleagues today. I originally wore my eggplant colored pants, but with state testing today (yesterday scored me 5000 steps before noon), I needed sneakers and so switched to these bootcuts.

I LOVE how my hair looks pulled pack like this. Perhaps its time to return to the pixie.

I am in such a rut... pant, tank, cardigan. But I keep trying to mix it up, which is a huge benefit of DYT. But I wish I had some dresses, skirts, and I have like 2 pairs of earrings that "work," so I have the shopping bug. Now that some recurring expenses are paid, I plan to do a little shopping on the DYT site (should they have a coupon, of course!) next month.

Here are some items that have caught my eye...
Earth Red Dress
I might even purchase this WITHOUT a coupon...
Greenwich Dress

I've worn this tank a few times, and mentally, I remark that I NEVER would have picked this up to consider before DYT. I got it at the thrift store, for something like $2, and it works so well in my DYT wardrobe.

When I set out my clothes last night, I paired it with a mustard cardigan, and it looked fantastic on the hangers but not so hot actually on, so I swapped it for this identical, but forest green cardigan. They're both probably too short for me, after probably a few too many trips through the dryer (working on this issue).

I also picked up this necklace secondhand on a BST board. It's not really something I'd choose, but it brings a little something to the very bare very in need for a necklace upper chest.

On Friday, I felt crummy and broke with DYT "rules." Today I followed to a tee.

I look so much better today. I did shove the belt down toward my hips, but I'm having trouble keeping it from riding up.

Friday, April 8, 2016

I'm so sick and tired of being sick and tired that I reverted today. This is pretty much exactly how I looked every day, before beginning DYT. Whatever top I had over whatever pants, hair just hanging, and mascara as my only makeup. The end.

It's really not a good look for me at all. Totally comfortable, and a look I will no doubt return to again, but it really just doesn't work for me.

I've been sick for over a week. It started as a sinus THING, cleared and moved into a chest THING, threw in a headache/migraine.

I also felt like changing it up. I am in a DYT rut. So when this blouse appeared in my spring bins, I realized it's pretty type 3. I paired it with this forest green blouse, but I was feeling rebellious and wore my birthstone earrings and necklace... they're in no way type 3--silver, dainty, and dark blue... but they're special and I went with it.

Since I'm feeling all kinds of BLECH, I went with super low makeup, only going with mascara.

Questions, questions, questions. I belong to several unofficial Dressing Your Truth boards, and there's been a lot of unsureness going around. I've also received a message recently that has me questioning my sureness in type 3. Maybe I should bring back that peach sweater and navy top I like but have been unable to sell.

It's April! I'm still fighting off a cold, and oh boy was it tough getting up after the break. I forgot to lay out my clothing the night before, so was running late!

Spring Break Again!

We decided to go out to dinner to celebrate the end of break, so I tossed on some nicer than normal clothes for the weekend. I took these after eating a big, pasta-riffic meal, so hoepfully my belly didn't look so big before dinner!
