January 19

Carol Tuttle says a lot about our "Beauty Sixth Sense," that we are dressing our truth before we even realize it.

It turns out I have a lot of T3 colors (if not the styles themselves) in my closet. So here's my attempt today. How do I feel, though? I feel the same as always. This is what I wear most every day, so there's really nothing different. I love this necklace, and wish I could find the earrings, but it is much too small to be the T3 look.

And these are my favorite khakis, which appear to be the T3 color of khaki....

I'm very frustrated, and wish I'd skipped DYT altogether.

11/25

Jeans Day! Half Day! WOOOT WOOT!

I love these jeans, but I struggle with how to style them. They're not really boot cut and they're not really skinny jeans. I'm not fashionable enough to have the sense to just "know" so I do what I think works, even if it doesn't.

Today's outfit features a Stitch Fix piece that came to me via a BST board. I received a white Moni blouse in a fix and loved it except that it was white and so so blah. When I saw this bright pattern, I quickly scooped it up.

The stud detail, though, made me think that a necklace wouldn't work. But it felt so bare without it, so I added a thin one. It really needed the chunky necklace!

I also wore this a few weeks ago with a belt at my natural waist, and received a compliment on it that way, but I could not get it to work the way I wanted today.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Pinned It Spinned It, going with my cobalt pants.

4/14 #AprilPinnedItSpinnedIt

Now THIS spin is outside my comfort zone. I NEVER would have chosen a teal necklace for this outfit. But with that said, I have gotten SO many compliments today! I guess it works!

2/20

Another day, Chucks and a denim jacket. I'm actually wearing a long layering tank, which matches my sweater pretty closely. I also picked up this necklace this week from Kohls; it's really tough to see here, so here's a detail picture.

2/19

One thing I've noticed by taking these photos (and chopping out my head) is that I have a long neck. I need to use that to my advantage somehow!

These are lined wool pants, and a great find in my "take to the dry cleaner" bag where they have sat for over a year. Oops. But I'm so glad I found and cleaned them before these desperately cold days we've had this week.

Feb 12

This is totally not my style, but I was inspired by someone to pick up a vest and give it a go. I got a ton of compliments! I like the look of the stripes, the teal, and the pop of coral from the necklace. Go figure, sometimes we need a pop in the nose to try out something new.

2/6

As I mentioned the other day, I am in a winter clothing rut. Warmth and comfort all the time. This, of course, led to a shopping spree at Loft (don't forget to shop through Ebates to earn cash back on all your online shopping!).

So I pulled this together. It is definitely outside of my rut, and the fleece lined (tough to tell but they are a maroon color) leggings were about as warm as pants.

I ended up wearing my standard brown tall boots with this, and rolled the waistband to bring the hem to a more flattering length.

Happy Friday!

November 10

I've tried this before, the chambray shirt and cardigan combo. The sweater didn't work so well then (and I don't think I had a mustard cardi), and it's not working so well today either. My sweater is too small, I guess, and feels just weird on. But, I went with it.

So, pants are Dockers
Chambray is from Kohls, I think.
Sweater from Loft
Belt is Loft
Necklace from Jane
Wearing my frumpy brown clogs too.

10/22

Professional day! I liked how this looked (I wore my Superman Chucks), but the orange top challenged my modesty...I felt on display.

10/15

I got this new top from Target, and I really like it. It's such a pretty blue, and it has the fun ruffle in front. I thought it would go well with these navy pants I have from Loft, and I was right. This color combination is very similar to the one we used for our wedding, though the blue was more navy. The cream cardigan is from Loft, and my necklace is an old one from Kohls. You can't see it in this photo, but I'm also wearing my sapphire earrings. When I got to work, I switched into my leopard heels, which got a bunch of compliments today!

10/7

I think of these pants as my frumpy, comfy pants. Their appearance signals returning to my rut. But boy are they soft and cozy.

Necklace: Jane.com
Sweater: NY&Co outlet
Pants: Dockers from forever ago
Shoes: Merrells, again.

9/29

I was inspired by a friend's outfit today. I don't have cute brown flats so frumpy teacher clogs unless I can find my tan Mary Jane flats.
My cardi has shrunk, so I'm not feeling super confident, but I like how it all came together.
Pants and cardi from Loft. Clarks shoes. Tank from Target. Necklace from jane.com.

9/10

I sure hope I don't regret these shoes.
Already lots of compliments (the boys) on my new, jane.com, necklace. Surprisingly, they're all gold, which I typically shy away from.
