I was grouchy when I got to work today, and my expressions show it. I think I really need the weather to get nice.

My makeup is gone, my energy is low, but I wanted to get back to this.

I'm reading Pete Souza's photobook of Obama's time in the presidency, and noted that Obama (a type 3 as well) took this posture frequently. It's not a natural one for me, at least not consciously.

Time for a haircut...

Well, my WHOLE outfit isn't from Kohls... just most of it. The earrings are from DYT and the tee is from Old Navy. Otherwise.....

4/25

This was an amazing weekend. Between baseball practice, a hike in a state park, a street fair, and a playground, I have cleaned my house not at all and prepped no food for the week. It was a weekend well spent!!

This plaid top is such a great item, and I'm so glad I found it secondhand. It's tough to see, but I'm wearing a plum tank underneath, and wore it with my burgundy flats. I love this top, and want to have all the colors!!

I was having a kitchen crisis and so have water on my blouse. Looking at these photos, I wish I'd added a belt or a larger chunkier necklace. Driving in, I wished I'd worn a purple tank for Prince rather than the green.

But today is Earth Day, and it was Wear Green for Earth Day at work. So I went with it.

Needing to mix things up a bit. I have had this mustard sweater for forever, and it's definitely good to go with the T3, but I have been shying away from it lately. I didn't expect to like it with the teal, but (at least according to the pictures), I think it works.

I'm in a spending freeze for myself, but I really want to go shopping!!!!

Go easy, Monday.

Weekend

On the weekend, I don't dress up. Not unless we're going "out" in some way. Saturday was no exception, and this was a particularly nutso one. Morning started with soccer (and boy is it cold at 9am in April), then the grocery store, then a birthday party, then we decided to go to the amusement park. Comfort is too important for me to sacrifice for looking good. It just isn't.

On the weekend, I do a lot of cleaning/cooking plus my house is perpetually chilly, so I wear a LOT of long sleeve tees and a LOT of sweatshirts. Maybe as I do DYT longer, I'll add some appropriate fleece jackets or something, but for now, it is what it is.

Sunday starts with my second job, which is teaching yoga. As you may know, it's tough enough to find workout wear that isn't black, let alone trying to find it in the colors you want. So here's what I came up with this weekend; it may not be DYT to the letter, but no black is a huge step up!

Sometimes, feedback is great. Any kind of "You look awesome!" rocks. But I just got feedback that this is considered "color blocking," which is something a T4 would do. It's pretty much how I always dress, with coordinating colors in my shell/tee and cardigan. I like contrast, and choosing colors that coordinate rather than match. So now I'm confused again.

I was not feeling "it" getting ready this morning. Back to mascara only as far as makeup, and I really feel I need a belt here.

But my hair looked awesome. I am really loving the "bumpit" look.

I actually received several compliments from colleagues today. I originally wore my eggplant colored pants, but with state testing today (yesterday scored me 5000 steps before noon), I needed sneakers and so switched to these bootcuts.

I LOVE how my hair looks pulled pack like this. Perhaps its time to return to the pixie.

I am in such a rut... pant, tank, cardigan. But I keep trying to mix it up, which is a huge benefit of DYT. But I wish I had some dresses, skirts, and I have like 2 pairs of earrings that "work," so I have the shopping bug. Now that some recurring expenses are paid, I plan to do a little shopping on the DYT site (should they have a coupon, of course!) next month.

Here are some items that have caught my eye...
Earth Red Dress
I might even purchase this WITHOUT a coupon...
Greenwich Dress
