I forgot to post my July Stitch Fix box!

 

This dress was so beautiful, but fit me so poorly. If the bra wasn't showing and/or it wasn't too long, this would have been a big hit for me!

 

This top was too bright a yellow. And really shapeless. The skirt was seriously BLAH.

This tank was a keeper! My own shorts with it, but I love this and wear it often!

Jeans Day! Half Day! WOOOT WOOT!

I love these jeans, but I struggle with how to style them. They're not really boot cut and they're not really skinny jeans. I'm not fashionable enough to have the sense to just "know" so I do what I think works, even if it doesn't.

Today's outfit features a Stitch Fix piece that came to me via a BST board. I received a white Moni blouse in a fix and loved it except that it was white and so so blah. When I saw this bright pattern, I quickly scooped it up.

The stud detail, though, made me think that a necklace wouldn't work. But it felt so bare without it, so I added a thin one. It really needed the chunky necklace!

I also wore this a few weeks ago with a belt at my natural waist, and received a compliment on it that way, but I could not get it to work the way I wanted today.

This was a long weekend. I attended a conference on Saturday and while I planned my whole outfit, I have no idea what I wore. Otherwise, I spent the weekend in sweats/yoga pants.

I love this dress, from Stitch Fix. It was way more money than I'd have spent otherwise, but I love it and have worn it a bunch. I'm really unsure how to transition it to fall, though.

Today I went with heather gray leggings. It doesn't look right. I hate pantyhose, so while that might be an obvious choice, it just isn't going to happen. Advice very much appreciated.

I had a big presentation, so I wanted to be extra fancy. Love these shoes from JustFab for feeling fancy but comfortable!

We went out to dinner, and I tried some new things. I wore my new JustFab boots, my new Stitchfix top, and tried rolling my jeans.

It didn't quite work out, but I loved how they looked together.

I've been inconsistent about taking pictures and terrible about posting them here. So here's what I wore for the first day of school. My Stitch Fix dress and my new Lucky Emmie flats!

Stitch Fix #4

Somehow I never posted my fourth fix! I requested a transition to fall box, and also indicated that I would love some things to challenge my comfort zone.

Here's my "Style Card," which included a note from my stylist, Alyssa.

Since I waited so long to post this, I don't have the pricing.

 This terry dress was so unbelievably comfortable. So soft, but it really looked like a nightgown. I love the detail at the leg, but... does my belly really look that big???

 Here are three pieces I received. I really liked this cardigan, which was super soft and a great color plus had pockets! But the pricing is just too far outside my budget. Back it went.

This sleeveless top was just meh. It looks good with the cardigan, but it's not really flattering. Again, I had a hard time with the price to justify.

I really like this top, and it's what I kept. I really like how it looks with these olive skinny jeans too, but they were way too short and WAY too expensive for me to justify keeping them. But boy do they look great with those boots.

So, I was pretty frustrated after this fix. I liked a bunch of her choices, but in so many ways, they just weren't right for me. She did challenge me, sort of, and I kept the piece most different from other items in my closet. But I just cannot justify the prices for Stitch Fix, so I'm not sure if I'll order again... at least not until we start making more money!

With all that said, I really love the rush of getting something unexpected, and I really love not having to shop around. I also like having someone more fashionable than myself do clothes shopping for me.

Here are two pieces, the 41Hawthorn Kassim Faux Wrap dress ($68) and the Liverpool Kolten denim jacket ($98).

I was disappointed in this denim jacket, but tried it with the dress as suggested anyway. The dress looks amazing, but the jacket does not. I could really really use a new denim jacket, but am not paying $98 for it! I hate the light wash, and this is a no go, even though it was really comfortable!

So here's another piece, the 41Hawthorn Moni Abstract Chevron Stud Detail Blouse ($58). I really like a lot about this one, but it's a little tight across the back and I'm not a fan of gray. Plus, these photos show that it's sort of see through! I'm not sure on this one at all! Also wearing the Liverpool Paley Lace Printed Denim Short ($44). The leg holes are much wider than what I'm used to, and while I like the print, I'm not really on board with these shorts.

Here's the Moni blouse again with the most disappointing piece in my box. These pants are Kut From the Kloth Siena Cropped Pant ($58). I love them! Then I saw how long they are. As you might note, in my personal note, Jen said they are 25.5 inches in the inseam (I tend toward 26 or 27 inches) and should be perfect for me. They are not labeled petite (though I specifically requested petite pants, and as I said in a previous box, I have only been requesting because they now carry petite lengths. For me, 25.5 inseam is neither pant nor cropped, but floodwaters.

So I tried again with these, rolling the bottoms to make it more true capri (this is another top I was trying on). This made the situation even worse, making it appear that these pants are simply too large in spots and the 

So, I'm not really sure what to do about the Stitch Fix situation. I haven't been blown away, as I hope. I see that many people say Stitch Fix's goal is to get you to buy 1 or 2 pieces (and the whole business model really ensures that!), and while there is a piece (the dress) that I'm buying because I love it rather than trying to not lose my styling fee, I wish I could get pieces like what others have gotten! I might need to play with my profile settings again or something.

What are your thoughts? Did Jen do a better job than the stylists from Fix 1 or 2?

My stylist sent this note:

I received the Romolo Preston Carved Crescent Bib Necklace. Before the buy 5 discount, it costs $28. NOT something I would try but I kind of like it!

Also included is the Paper moon Jerrard Heathered Open Front Cardigan, $54. I've had my eye on a cocoon cardi, but I'm not sure if I like the fit. The stylist suggested I wear this cardigan with either outfit, the skirt or the jeans...

Below I'm wearing the Pixley Hanneli Polka Dot Swing Skirt, $54. I was most excited about this piece, but the waist is tight and I don't know if I like how it looks with the recommended tee. A white tank and a slimmer cardigan would look best I think.

I received a Market &Spruce Sam Hi-lo Short Sleeve Tee, $44. You read that right, $44 for a gray tee. I typically wear my tees tucked, so the hi lo doesn't really matter for me.

The cardigan looks like a blazer to me in this photo.

Next up is the Kut from the Kloth Kate Boyfriend Jean at $78. I like it, but it feels dropped at the crotch; I don't know if that's how Boyfriend jeans fit? I definitely like the cardigan and tee with the jeans better than the skirt.

So, which items should I keep? Which should I send back? Is all this worth $178.50? Have you tried Stitch Fix yet?

I have to admit my disappointment; I only scheduled this because of their new petite sizing, but I don't feel like I received anything that counts as petite.

This is the Collective Concepts Diane Abstract Dot blouse. I thought I would love it, and was excited when I took it out of the box. But it doesn't look right on, the material doesn't feel nice either. Sending back.

This is neckline detail on the Paper moon Ivan Embellished Collar Knit top, which is also below. I think it would look much better tucked in.

Ooooh, you get to see my face, and the weird expressions I typically crop out.

Oooooh, you can see the baby bump that has no baby under it. I like this top, but I'm not sure if it's flattering, or if it's worth the amount they want for it.

Here you see the Octavia Henry Birds Infinity Scarf, Sweet Rain Thomas Striped Raglan Sweater, and the Just Black Jimmy Skinny Jeans (which I'm also wearing in all the photos).

I love this outfit. I love the way the scarf looks with the sweater, how comfy the sweater is, and the fit and feel of the jeans. They really are perfect. But the jeans are not $88 worth of perfect. The jeans are definitely going back, but I am highly likely to keep this scarf and sweater.
